If you need to video someone or some thing or need to record meetings, or just like the latest gadgets, imagine having a portal video camera always on your key chain. The uses for the Key Chain Camcorder & Digital Video Recorder are endless.

We charged the Keychain DVR for 3 hours, and let it record. It records 1 x 30 minute file, and a 20-22 minute file for a total of about 50 minutes. The manufacturer is claiming 3 hours, though our test reveal that is not the case. However, 55 minutes is more then enough time to get your mark.

The DVR Key Chain works on a PC just fine, make sure you turn it on first. This is the first pocket DVR that we have seen that you have to turn it on first.  Not Apple compatible---sorry.  Though you can just take out the SD card, and use a SD card reader and you will see the video and still pictures just fine.

Operating instructions:
Charge the device for 3 hours with the included USB cable to your PC.
Press the ON/OFF button for approximately 2 seconds until the yellow status light appears. You are now in stand-by mode.
To Capture a video, press the REC button for 3 seconds. The light will blink 3x, and will turn off. You are now recording video. To stop, press the REC button once, The status light will turn back to solid yellow. Repeat these steps for additional video shots.
To take a photograph, press the REC button once. The status light will blink once while it's taking the photo. Press the REC button again to take additional photos.
To turn the unit off press the ON/OFF button for 2 seconds.
Connect to your PC with included USB cable to upload the videos.
Setting the Date/Time:
1. Open Notepad on your PC or Text Edit for Mac
2. Type in your current date and time as follows, for July 1 2009 2:15 PM type 2009.07.01 14:15:00
3. Save the file as SetTime.txt and drag into the camera drive while it's connected to your PC. Operating instructions: Please note you may have to download the proper codec to play AVI files (or use with VLC player).
